The World is not recyclable!

The World is not recyclable!

"Earth has been lent to us by our children, we try to treat it better in order to give it back to them still able to give them the joys of life."

Now or never! Plastic has invaded our planet. It pollutes the ground, suffocates the seas and kills its inhabitants, it has even entered the human food chain (microplastics present in fresh and salty waters, assimilated by plants and animals). It is a scourge that we must stem as soon as possible and then neutralize if we want to save the world and ourselves from extinction.

If these sound like overly pessimistic words to you, consider the facts (which are truly disastrous).

World plastic production has gone from 15 million in 1964 to over 310 million nowadays.
The 79% of over 8.3 billion tons of plastic produced since the 1950s, has ended up in landfills and in all natural environments, 12% has been incinerated and only 9% has been recycled.
At least 8 million tonnes of plastic continue to end up in the oceans every year, and as of today, it is estimated that there are more than 150 million tonnes of plastic in the oceans.
If action is not taken to reverse the trend, continuing with current trends, the oceans could have a proportion of 1 ton of plastic for every 3 tons of fish in 2025, while in 2050 we will have more plastic in the world's oceans by weight than fish.
Plastic is now everywhere: traces of it have been found in the ice, in large marine trenches, up to 10 km deep (the Mariana Trench), while in the Hawaiian Islands rocks defined as plastiglomerate have been identified because the plastic is present and inserted inside them. What can each of us do?
If each single person is a drop in the ocean, their virtuous behavior multiplied by a few billion times (in October 2019 the world population exceeded 7.7 billion people) can make an enormous difference.

  • We all use less plastic.
  • We correctly confer the plastic wrappers with waste sorting.
  • Let's avoid buying "disposable" products, because the world will be very soon "used and thrown away".
What do we at Lacosèr do (besides inviting you to behave virtuously)?
  • We mainly use 100% recyclable materials.
  • The plastic bottles we currently use are made with recycled and recyclable plastic, but above all they contain concentrated formulations that allow a high degree of dilution and avoid the continuous "turnover" of the packaging.
  • We are planning a progressive abandonment of plastic packaging in favor of eco-sustainable materials.
But not only!
  • We recycle the water used in the production process, through a sanitizing and cooling process.
  • We purchase electricity from renewable sources.
  • We self-produce a part of the electricity needed by our company through solar panels.
  • We recycle and reuse cardboard packaging.
